HOSTED TRIPS and FLY FISHING TRAVEL SERVICE
Doc ventures outside of his home waters of New Mexico to explore and chase fish in various locations. International trips target trout in South America, or bonefish, permit and tarpon in the Caribbean. United States locations include salmon in Alaska, steelhead on the OP, redfish on the Gulf Coast, stripers in New England, and of course, trout throughout the country. Some locales are off the charts-- while others are hidden gems away from the radar. Doc shares his first-hand experience of these incredible waters via hosted trips and fly fishing travel services. These trips and services make planning your fly fishing adventure convenient and without hidden service fees.
There are a multitude of advantages to joining Doc on a hosted trip. Doc will handle your reservations with the lodge, outfitters and guides, while providing you with all the specific information required for the destination. He will work with you to make flight arrangements as well as accompany you on your trip. These trips are designed to give you the peace of mind that your next exciting trip is a memorable and hassle-free adventure. Below are the current hosted trips scheduled for 2012-2013. ALASKA WEST
Hosted by Doc Thompson
August 3-10, 2012
Alaska West is a serious fly fishing tent camp operation on the Kanektok River in the Togiak National Wildlife Refuge in Southeastern Alaska along the Bearing Sea Coast. The program at Alaska West is straight forward: Fish hard with hard working guides for salmon, leopard rainbows, dolly varden/arctic char and grayling, eat good food, watch the Alaskan sunset from viewing decks or in the comfort of the camp's lounge which has internet access and sleep in comfortable accommodations that include hot showers. This hosted trip targets Silver Mania, the crazed state of mind resulting from hooking into Silver Salmon. Early August is also good timing for the bull-dog submarine fighting Chum Salmon and the thick shouldered Leopard Rainbow Trout. For more information please click here.
